Francesco Calzolaio is born in Bari (Italy) anno 1940 and currently works and lives in Ghent (Belgium) two steps from Sint-Martens- Latem, the cradle of the flamish painters. Anti-conformistic and free of spirit, he has enriched his life living and working in different European countries, becoming a true poliglotta and gotten real passionate in the study and art of painting. Even in his young years, he was always interested in this and searching to improve his knowledge in the painting-techniques of the great artists in history. In  his art he prevails the taste of the realism, without concession to any type of idealismo but, above all, a spasmodic search of new    thematic and artistic horizons without  all to go away from the topics to he preferred.
